SELF-WORTH CANNOT BE EARNED

What changes when we stop looking outside ourselves for proof of our own value.
SELF-WORTH CANNOT BE EARNED
How much of your life has been built around earning love, proving your worth or believing your value depends on something outside of you?
People pleasing. Over-giving. Shape-shifting. Seeking validation. Overthinking every interaction.
Many of us learned to build our sense of worth through achievement, approval, productivity or being needed by others. We learned, consciously or unconsciously, that love, belonging and safety were things we had to earn.
But true self-worth cannot be earned externally.
It must be rooted within.
Self-worth begins to leak when we abandon ourselves to keep the peace, depend on external approval to feel valuable, overextend ourselves in order to feel needed, silence what is true to avoid rejection or believe that even rest must somehow be earned.
Over time, this can look like chronic overthinking, over explaining ourselves, fear of disappointing others, staying in situations we know are no longer aligned, needing reassurance in order to feel secure or continually questioning our own value.
The repair is not about finding better ways to prove our worth. It begins when we stop abandoning ourselves in pursuit of it.
When we speak honestly.Honor our limits. Allow ourselves to receive. Trust our inner knowing. Return to the body instead of endlessly negotiating with the mind.
Each of these becomes a way of saying:
I do not have to leave myself in order to belong.
Because you were never meant to spend your life proving your worth.
Only remembering it.
